Odontomyia sp (soldier fly) - 10 mm with large eyes, harmless to humans. f.Stratiomyiidae. Occasionally their eggs or larvae are swallowed accidentally and pass out in the stool giving the human a fright but they do not cause any harm. Measurements are vital for id of parasites. Adult diptera killed with chloroform and pinned dry and examined with hand lens or stereo microscope.
